We are looking for a Software Engineer to join PackPay at the earliest stage of company building. We have an existing MVP, active customer validation, and a clear problem worth solving. You will partner directly with the founder to turn early traction into a scalable product and help build the technical foundation of the company from the ground up.
This role will own the transition from MVP to production-ready platform, making key decisions across architecture, infrastructure, AI systems, security, and engineering processes. Many of the technical decisions made in the next 12–24 months will originate with you.
As a software engineer, you will sit at the intersection of product, technology, and customer discovery. You will influence product direction and help determine not only what gets built, but why it gets built. You should be comfortable with uncertainty, motivated by ownership, and excited to build in an environment where the product, company, and roadmap are still taking shape.
Every year, growing consumer brands lose significant revenue to deductions, disputes, chargebacks, and reconciliation work that never gets resolved. Most finance teams simply do not have enough time or resources to chase every dollar. PackPay is building AI-powered workflows that help finance teams understand what happened, identify what action to take, and recover revenue that would otherwise be written off. Our goal is simple: help customers recover money they have already earned.
What You'll Do
- ●Lead technical development from MVP to production-ready product.
- ●Architect and build scalable web applications, APIs, AI workflows, and infrastructure.
- ●Work closely with the founding team to shape product direction and technical strategy.
- ●Turn customer workflows into reliable product behavior.
- ●Rapidly prototype, test, and iterate on new ideas.
- ●Make foundational decisions around tooling, infrastructure, security, and engineering.
- ●Help create the roadmap as we learn, not just execute a roadmap handed to you.
- ●Operate with a high degree of autonomy and ownership.
- ●Help shape the future engineering culture as the company grows.
Current Technical Stack
- ●React / Next.js
- ●TypeScript
- ●Python
- ●Node.js
- ●PostgreSQL
- ●AWS / GCP
- ●OpenAI, Anthropic, and modern AI tooling
- ●We care more about your ability to learn, adapt, and build than experience with any specific technology.
You’ll Thrive in This Role If You…
- ●Have hands-on experience building with LLMs or AI agents, and can show us what you’ve built.
- ●Learn unfamiliar domains quickly and ask sharp questions.
- ●Are comfortable working through uncertainty, changing priorities, and incomplete information without a defined playbook.
- ●Balance speed with thoughtful technical decision-making.
- ●Communicate clearly and work well with non-technical operators.
- ●Have strong product judgment and a bias toward shipping.
- ●Are energized by ownership and accountability rather than clearly defined requirements.
What We Offer
- ●Be one of the first employees and help shape the future of the company.
- ●Own major technical decisions from the earliest stages.
- ●Build AI-native software solving meaningful operational problems.
- ●Have a direct impact on product direction, company strategy, and customer outcomes.
- ●Competitive salary plus meaningful equity participation.
